You install them horizontally, supporting trench walls by bracing trench sheets and timber walling, preventing collapse. These trench struts have clawed heads and bases so that they can grip linings securely, holding everything in place. The strut end plates spread the load well, ensuring that the weight is distributed evenly to prevent damage to the trench walls. The adjustable design of these props allows them to be opened out at a range of heights to suit a range of trench sizes. As you can close struts down, they are easy to carry around and are ideal for transit and storage. When using these trench struts, ensure that you use all appropriate safety equipment - including a hard hat, gloves, steel toe-capped boots and safety goggles. Ensure that all struts are fitted with the correct captive safety pins, made from high quality, tensile material. When in use, the pin should contact the collar on both sides of the outer strut.
