Product Description

This Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) is an essential piece of equipment for use before the start of an excavation or any dig. The CAT can effectively detect underground piping, cables, and utilities – removing the risk of damaging the piping and avoiding the need for costly repairs and delays, or personal injuries. The Cable Avoiding Tool has three different modes, each detecting a different kind of underground cable or utility. These different modes allow the CAT to effectively detect signals given off by loaded underground cables and VLF radio signals radiated by gas, communication and water service lines. Through the use of a CAT you can map out the location of the cables and plan the excavation more efficiently.

    I needed a wall scanner solely to detect electric cables and this does that very well. I've bought other scanners and been disappointed in the past but this is very good - I can't fault it. It shows a red light as soon as it detects a live cable and a percentage indication of signal strength.
