Telehandler Hire

Telescopic material handlers

Telehandlers are ideal for material handling on rough terrain and demanding outdoor areas. They are hybrid machines that combine the features of a forklift truck and boom lift or crane on an all-terrain vehicle. You can use them for indoor and outdoor worksites, but because of the size of them, they are best suited to use outside or large internal sites.

Telehandlers are lift and place machines, but they offer so much versatility on-site. They have a high working load limit and extendable reach. These machines are suitable for many different industries, including construction, agriculture, and more. You can use them to move materials, lift and relocate heavy loads, clear waste areas, and more. You can extend and retract the lifting arms without moving the base, but you can also drive it while the forks are lifted.

Telescopic handlers are so useful due to how adaptable they are. You can use them as a standard forklift with pallets forks that offer a range of lift heights. But, they also have telescopic booms. The booms offer excellent reach to areas with limited access, above obstructions, and heights.

The booms are usually equipped with a fork carriage as standard. But, you can use them with a range of different attachments, like buckets or claws. Forklift prongs are ideal for carrying pallets, hay bales, concrete blocks, timber, pipework, etc. You can use buckets and claws to handle rocks, rubble, earth, sand, water and waste. These machines can also act as mini cranes. You can attach the boom to a jib, hook, or winch. Any of these attachments allow you to suspend loads or drop them into location.

You can swap and change the difference attachments quickly and with ease. Being able to alter the functions on demand minimises effort and downtime, allowing you to make the most out of the machine.

We have a fantastic range of machines available for hire. We supply machines with reaches from 3-metres, all the way up to 30-metres, and incremental sizes in between. Maximum loads and other specifications depend on the model.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to hire a telehandler?

The rate of a telescopic forklift rental can vary depending on the machine's working load limit and maximum reach.

Do you need a license to drive a telehandler?

You need a licence to drive a telehandler on a public road. You do not need a licence to drive and operate a digger on access roads, private property, or private worksites.

Are there any age restrictions that apply to operating a telehandler?

There are age restrictions applicable depending on the weight of the telescopic handler. If the machine is under 3.5 tonnes, drivers must be at least 17 years old with a license. If the machine weighs between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes, drivers must be 18 with a license.

What is another name for telehandlers?

They are also known as telescopic handlers, telescopic forklifts, telehandler forklifts, boom lifts, lulls, teleporters, and teleloaders.

Is a forklift the same as a telehandler?

Telescopic handlers are similar to forklifts, but they tend to be larger and capable of lifting heavier loads. Telehandlers are more versatile, as you can use them to do everything, from placing materials to digging a hole.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.

If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.

YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.

If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
