Mag Drill Hire

Mag drills, or 'magnetic broaching cutters' are portable drills with an electromagnetic base. They are used for boring accurate & precise holes in metal. The base fixes to the metal surface using magnetism and the drill is lowered into the metal using the operating handle for high quality, professional drilling. We have magnetic drill hire available nationwide, in a range of sizes.

Magnetic Drill Hire

High quality mag drills for hire nationwide

We have an excellent range of mag drills available for hire nationwide. Our Rotabroach magnetic broaching drills are high quality, professional standard pieces of equipment designed for drilling holes in metal. We have 110v electric mag drills available in three different sizes, with different bore depths and diameter capabilities. Each of these magnetic broaching drills features a strong and reliable electromagnetic base that secures the drill to the metal surface as the cutter bores through the metal. This ensures consistent, accurate and burr free drilling.

Our magnetic drills are 110v pieces of equipment - they are ideal for use in workshops and on site. A transformer and 110v extension lead will be required to use them with 240v domestic mains power supply. We can supply transformers, extension leads and broaching cutters ('drill bits') as accessories with the hire.

  • Small Mag Drill: A compact & convenient magnetic broaching drill with a 1100w motor, suitable for drilling up to 35mm diameter holes and up to 25mm depth.
  • Medium Magnetic Drill: Our most popular magnetric drill. With a 1200w motor, this mag drill is capable of cutting holes in metal up to 40mm in diameter and up to 50mm in depth.
  • Large Magnetic Drill: The largest mag drill in our range. This model features a 1500w motor and it is capable of drilling holes up to 50mm diameter and up to 50mm in depth.

You can book a mag drill hire online or over the phone with our hire team and then collect the equipment from your local store at the start of the hire, or we can deliver to you. We can also supply HSS Rotabore Cutters in a range of sizes for these drills, as well as transformers and extension leads.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.

If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.

YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.

If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
